My partner and I have taken on the November novel-writing challenge of writing 50,000 words in 30 days. Absurd deadline? No time to spare? Sharp rocks at the bottom? Bring it on!

I decided to try writing fiction after working predominantly on non-fiction for the past three years and promptly found myself in idea paralysis.

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to Google plot ideas, but here we are! I did, and I’m sharing. I have found these are great to bust through the wall/fog/writer’s block/existential crisis.

Some are random, some allow you to choose genre and tropes, and some even give a sample paragraph or two to spark your creativity. I think you’ll find that you write much better than the samples, however, it’s good to simply get your pen to paper.

Happy writing!
